Job Description

Responsible for working with the business intelligence (BI) of ETL (extract, transform, load) developer team, modifying jobs and ETL processes for a next generation enterprise data warehouse. Has an understanding of data modeling, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to identify solutions to complex data problems, and to communicate appropriately with the team leadership. Helps interpret business and create technical requirements, including mapping documents to support the ETL development process, and the execution of ETL jobs. The role works with oversight of more experienced ETL developers and works to the specifications of the BI Data Architect. The candidate has a good understanding of current business intelligence tools and data warehousing tools and can support the implementation of the tools.

This position will require someone with:

* BA or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred.
* Minimum 3-5 years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
* Knowledge of IBM Puredata (Netezza) preferred
* Knowledge of IBM Information Server (DataStage, QualityStage) preferred
* Knowledge of MDX & DAX skills preferred
* Strong T-SQL knowledge and skills required
* Customer service and team oriented
* Attention to detail written and verbal communication skills
* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
* Ability to be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation for after hour and weekend production support
* Open to learn/embrace new technologies

The basic duties of this position include:

1.Research, development, document and modification of ETL processes and jobs per data architecture and modeling requirements and participates as needed to help meet team milestones / goals.
2.Strong T-SQL Skills and A firm understanding of reusable ETL frameworks driven by ETL design patterns.
3.Troubleshoot issues such as connection, failed jobs, application errors, server alerts, space thresholds, etc. within predefined SLAs.
4.Proactively maintain and tune SQL code according to best practices of EDW, to prevent issues from occurring.
5.Understand Relational and Dimensional data architecture concepts.
6.Ensure appropriate documentation for all new development and modifications of the ETL processes and jobs.
7.Performs unit testing for solutions developed and ensures integrity and security of institutional data.
8.Provide user support to customers of the EDW and technologies
9.Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the organization
10.Complete other duties as assigned by team lead or manager.
11.Mentoring of junior team members.
