Job Description

Oversee, lead, and set priorities for assigned Fleet Maintenance shops in a region

Select, coach, train and develop direct reports

Conduct site visits and manage operations at all assigned shop locations

Communicate with all levels of staff and ensue servicing is completed in a timely and cost effective manner

Execute department level administrative duties include payroll processing, and scheduling with the help of the shop service writers/administrators

Review and confirm that service repair orders written correspond with equipment repairs completed by shop Team Members

Monitor shop inventories for repair parts and supplies; initiate replacement orders to maintain basic inventory quantities

Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

Complete other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent certificate required

Trade school certification in diesel mechanics or diesel tech training preferred

Class A CDL with Tank, ad Double, Triple endorsements preferred

ASE Certified (or equivalent) in heavy duty truck disciplines preferred

Five years experience as a lead mechanic, shop foreman, or shop manager preferred

Basic Microsoft Office skills required

Knowledge of profit and loss statements preferred

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects successfully

Effective leadership skills and the ability to motivate others

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a sense of urgency and focus

Effective problem solving and situation analysis skills

Financial acumen and experience related to budgets and purchasing

Travel required up to 75%

Available by phone 24/7 to deal with issues that arise

Ability to lift over 50 pounds

Able to work in a variety of temperatures and weather

Able to stand for extended time periods

Exposure to noise typical of a large equipment repair facility

Safely operate forklift with tire cage
