Job Description

The purpose of this job is to perform essential functions for the identify verification process and completion of all background check assessments and processes in accordance with all applicable laws.

  • Gatekeeper for all ID verification and background check reports generated in relation to all corporate and field leadership team members as well as third party contractors
  • Review, analyze and independently exercise learned discretion in adjudicating background checks (including candidate stories and secondary appeals) in accordance with federal, state, provincial and local regulations, laws and requirements, including but not limit to those which mandate that individualized assessment and analysis be conducted by an employer with respect to each background check to ensure that the decision made is job-related, consistent with business necessity, and does not have a discriminatory disparate impact on protected groups
  • Interact with and manage the expectations of management and third parties throughout the background check and identification verification process
  • Communicate final decisions in a timely manner thus halting or progressing a candidate through the process
  • Troubleshoot with candidates, internal resources and/or vendors to resolve issues
  • Complete annual motor vehicle record ("MVR") for drivers of company vehicles
  • Compiling reports and communicating failures to leadership; ensure action is taken to meet company compliance standards
  • Oversee the identification verification process; review, analyze and exercise learned discretion in adjudicating disputes and/or questions related to identification verification failures, including those pertaining to federal, state, provincial, local and international identification regulations 
  • Communicate final decisions related to identification verifications in a timely manner thus halting or progressing through the process
  • Prepare analytic based performance and impact reports to include passage/failure rates, duration of the background check process and duration of the identification verification process 
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum one year's experience working in an office setting preferred
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required; intermediate skills preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required to include advanced formulas, pivot tables, metrics, and graphs
  • Knowledge of background check or identification verification processes, including applicable laws and regulations, a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior, including, but not limited to, confidentiality
  • Ability to work and complete tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to work as a member of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to adjust to changing circumstances and priorities
  •  Ability to exercise ethical judgment and make ethical decisions in complex and high pressure situations. 
  • General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed
