Job Description

The purpose of this job is to support the Communications Manager and other team members to develop and implement communications strategies that promote a positive public image among the company’s various audiences.

This position will require someone with:

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
* Minimum 3 years experience in corporate communications preferred

* Knowledge of grammar and style guidelines detailed in the Associated Press (AP) Stylebook
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to format and enter text into Constant Contact program
* Ability to use In-design and Adobe Illustrator programs

* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Media and community relations skills
* Organized with attention to detail
* Ability to think quickly under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
* Advanced public speaking skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with the media
* Ability to coordinate with the company’s public relations firms on crisis communications when necessary

The basic duties of this position include:

1.Create and edit press releases, media statements and other content for external distribution with minimal edits
2.Proactive media engagement and storyline development
3.Strong relationship with traditional media and influencer targets
4.Experience with crisis communication management
5.Experience overseeing PR program including analysts, influencers, speaking, content and measurement
6.Assist in the planning and execution of store openings and special events
7.Create copy for the company website and printed material
8.Assist third party agencies in creating, planning, and executing public relations for company initiatives
9.Conduct interviews for the media
10.Collect professional driver feedback on company products and services at events
11.Oversee work performed by contracted agencies
12.Lead meetings with other departments to facilitate external communications efforts
13.Create calendar for external communications activity
14.Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
15.Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
16.Complete other duties as assigned
