Job Description

Are you successful with prioritization and don’t miss the details?  This job may be what you are looking for in your next career!  In this position, you will be preparing and filing monthly, quarterly, and annual motor fuel excise tax returns.

  1. Reconciliation of tax liability accounts
  2. Perform tax research as needed to ensure tax implications are in accordance with state filing requirements
  3. Answers motor fuel tax questions by researching and interpreting state communications
  4. Utilize IGEN software to prepare tax returns and create EDI files
  5. Maintains detailed communication regarding tax notices received
  6. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  7. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  8. Maintain established internal controls over financial reporting
  9. Complete other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in accounting, finance, or other business-related fields
  • One to three years of Excise tax experience or more preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Ability to set priorities, multitask, meet deadlines, and resolve problems with a high sense of urgency
