The purpose of this job is to classify, examine, and analyze accounting records, prepare related financial reports and statements for management, and handle moderately complex accounting duties.
In this role you will:
- Perform general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of certain leger accounts relating to Accounts Receivable.
- Reconciliation of cash, chargeback, and receivable accounts, including research and follow-up of outstanding items.
- Prepare, record, analyze, and report accounting transactions and ensure the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee and approve certain journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger and validating those transactions with bank reporting.
- Conduct or assist in the documentation of accounting projects.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Assist with various month-end close tasks.
- Support, guide, and assist the Accounts Receivable team.
- Provide support for audit request for SOX requirements.
- Preparation and balancing of Retail SOX controls.
- May be required to receive and post customer payments on a timely basis.
- May be required to maintain and balance large volume of data from disparate data sources and output results into meaningful and actionable intelligence.
- May be required to troubleshoot data issues and propose correction to leadership.
- May be required to prepare and settle daily/weekly/monthly to Licensee locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience in Accounting or related area preferred.
- Understanding of general accounting practices strongly preferred.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel.
- Understanding of accounting software is a plus.
- Experience with customer account databases is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, conflict management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate accounting principles and practices with non-accounting team members.
- Good attitude with a willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to meet deadlines, work extended hours when necessary, and perform work with a high sense of urgency.
