The purpose of this job is to supervise and actively manage retail inventories across categories in support of the company’s annual sales and gross profit goals.

Essential Functions

1.Support the retail category management teams and store operations teams in identifying and capitalizing on winning inventory management strategies

2.Provide direction and recommendations to retail category managers on inventory management strategies or adjustments that will help PFJ meet or beat monthly/annual profitability and inventory goals

3.Work closely with the PFJ pricing & category management teams on the process and calendar that will govern weekly inventory results, reviews, approvals, action plans, and store level actions

4.Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the 4R omni channel replenishment platform and provide support, reporting, analysis, and valuable insights to the Chief Merchant and his direct reports

5.Identify areas for continuous process improvement, systems upgrades, and training.Make quarterly recommendations to the Sr. Directors of Merchandising and Chief Merchant

6.Collaborate with the Space Planning and JDA teams regularly

7.Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

8.Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

9.Complete other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics or Retail and Consumer Science required or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of retail inventory management experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in retail planning, analysis or strategy preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, advanced Excel required
  • Knowledge of analytical reporting utilizing databases
  • JDA, Revionics and Tableau experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a working knowledge of retail concepts
  • Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsibly
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable team player
