Job Description

Pilot Flying J’s Digital Development Team is seeking a QA Analyst II to join a highly agile digital development and QA team. This team oversees a diverse portfolio of web, mobile, kiosk, and backend applications across multiple technology stacks to deliver high-value features for our customers and business partners.

This technical role offers an opportunity to leverage your existing skillset and become grounded in best QA practices and the Pilot Flying J culture. You will perform functional, device, integration, regression, and user interface testing for digital products as well as smoke tests for Production deployment .In addition, you develop test plans, test cases, and perform preliminary debugging of issues identified.

You will help ensure top-tier quality of web, mobile, and kiosk products and related backend services and APIs, with a focus on our long-term technology roadmap. You will collaborate with the team on quality improvements to planning, requirement, development and test procedures.   1. Collaborate with the development and QA team on planning, monitoring, control and execution of testing-related activities.
  2. Assist with QA activities performed by internal or external testers to ensure that quality processes are maintained throughout projects
  3. Provide mentoring, coaching and training for other team members on various quality assurance tools, processes, and procedures
  4. Review requirements specifications and technical design documents
  5. Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  6. Develop, maintain and execute detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases and scripts
  7. Execute, maintain, and analyze automation test scripts
  8. Execute and record test runs, log and track bugs, enhancements and usability related issues
  9. Coordinate with developers, fellow QA analysts, and other project resources to discuss issues identified during testing; assign issues for resolution, if applicable; ensure resolution prior to project completion
  10. Communicate with support teams to notify them of upcoming project related releases; document potential workarounds or issues discovered throughout the testing process
  11. Communicate and participate in project-related meetings with internal business partners, team members, and vendors to identify and communicate end-user needs
  12. Utilize laboratory environments to simulate end user experience and conduct tests
  13. Coordinate with business users and other stakeholders to track end user acceptance testing
  14. Coordinate with internal or external resources regarding acceptance of patches and releases to correct issues
  15. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  16. Extensive knowledge and experience with RESTFul APIs to include
  17. Functional testing with tools such as Insomnia or Postman
  18. Performance testing with JMeter
  19. Experience with databases and related tools and processes, including Microsoft SQL and SSMS
  20. Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, etc., and assisting the test automation team with ongoing API & frontend test automation maintenance
  21. Experience executing jobs and reading execution results with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
  22. Experience with device farms such as Perfecto, Sauce Labs, AWS Device Farm, etc.
  23. Experience with the Mulesoft integration platform
  24. Experience testing native mobile applications on iOS and Android
  25. Knowledge of programming languages like JavaScript, HTML, and CSS


  1. Minimum 3+ years in quality assurance required or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Experience in project management practices/software preferred
  3. Quality assurance certification preferred
  4.  Test automation tool experience preferred
  5. Test case management tool experience preferred, such as TestRail, PractiTest, Zephyr Scale, etc.
  6. Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  7. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and Windows-based applications
  8. Experience with other testing tools such as SoapUI, Charles Proxy, etc.
  9. Ability to troubleshoot and interpret log files
  10.  Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  11. Ability to manage time and priorities without supervision
  12.  Ability to coordinate and collaborate with internal and external customers
  13. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to communicate with team members of all levels of the organization
  14. Flexibility to immediately shift priorities and respond to emerging company issues
  15. Strong organization skills
  16. Advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and diagnostic skills
  17. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
