This position will require someone with:

* Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required
* Minimum five years’ experience in Architectural Firm; retail environment is preferred
* Completed IDP Program; Licensure Preferred
* National College of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) membership required
* Proficient skills using Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD Architecture
* Extensive knowledge of design principles and standards
* Advanced architecture detailing skills
* Working knowledge of CDs and procedures
* Working knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
* Working knowledge of space requirements
* Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
* Ability to blend creativity and practicality
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Effective problem solving and situation analysis skills
* Strong organizational and follow-up skills
* Analytical thinking skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

The basic duties of this position include:

* Participate in the development of project designs for new projects, remodels, and acquisitions
* Create construction/design documents for development and enhancement of Pilot Flying travel centers.
* Review construction documents (CDs) to ensure compliance with standards, mechanical, building systems, codes and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
* Review for smaller projects
* Collaborate with Senior Corporate Architect to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
* Implement new project initiatives assigned by the Corporate Design Manager
* Develop and maintain drawings standards, details, and processes in order to produce the required construction documents consistent with the organization’s mission
* Perform site investigation and document details of acquisitions and remodels to determine feasibility of design implementation
* Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
* Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
* Complete other duties as assigned to include code research, plans review comment response, and building material research among others.
