Job Description

What you will be doing: 

  • Identify, source, and distribute trend right and competitive assortments annually for Hispanic grocery, cooler, soda, and beer categories of business  
  • Leverage vendor partnerships, store operations, and local DSD vendors to identify incremental sales opportunities across our existing and new lines of Hispanic products
  • Develop a Hispanic category sales and gross profit plan annually accompanied by a 3-year strategic vision for the growth of each
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all contracts, MSAs, rebates, funding, and obligations to ensure that both Pilot and our vendors adhere to the agreed-upon terms and spirit of the contracts or agreements
  • Participate in relevant industry events and trade shows that add value to the business and help cultivate rich assortments and vendor relationships
  • Visit stores to engage guests, customers, and our team members to gain product, pricing, and category feedback.
  • Review category and product performance weekly to track results to plan and budget. Report on positive and negative trends by product category, highlighting specific action points and recommended business changes to meet or beat monthly and annual budgets
  • Lead vendor set up and maintenance processes, including review of new products, business planning, cost and contract negotiations, RFPs, and supply chain management

What you need: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, marketing, business, economics, or related field
  • Minimum five years’ merchandising or other relevant industry experience preferred
