Job Description

The purpose of this job is to take responsibility for the successful operation and management of a Pilot Corporation Convenience Store (C-Store).

  • Oversee, lead, and set priorities for the C-Store team
  • Select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
  • Ensure store conditions meet company standards of safety, cleanliness and in-stock conditionsOrder and stock all products for sale; follow the company’s merchandising plans and procedures
  • Review and analyze key reports in efforts to increase profit and sales, identify opportunities, and meet company standards within determined operating budget
  • Use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products
  • Ensure quality service is delivered to every guest
  • Perform team members’ roles as needed (e.g., process transactions, maintain deli, maintain clean work area, perform fuel desk functions, and other guest service functions)
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Supervise the Restaurant General Manager to ensure restaurant operations follow company standards and meet the Franchisor’s guidelines (where applicable)
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required; some college preferred
  • Minimum three years’ supervisory experience in a similar position preferred; bachelor’s degree can be substituted for previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with high-volume retail, supervision, and sales with expense control
  • ServSafe certification preferred


  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact positively with team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives
  • Strong retail acumen focusing on sales and profit
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and manage while also performing tasks
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet goals and initiatives
  • Ability to complete basic business math computations and calculations
  • Possesses conflict resolution and problem solving skills
  • Strong situational flexibility and adaptation skills to accommodate various job conditions, expectations, and personalities

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and move around majority of day
  • Move as much as 200 pounds with hand truck
  • Stoop, bend, twist, and reach
  • Climbing ladders
  • Work around high and low temperature equipment (i.e., ovens, freezers)
  • Exposure to gasoline, diesel, propane, and cleaning chemical fumes
  • Exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures
  • Slip, trip, and fall hazards
