Job Description

The purpose of the job is to create and maintain the company’s Metadata Catalog which is fundamental to business processes across the organization. 

  1. Merge business knowledge with various complex data sources to produce the Metadata Catalog
  2. Ensure the quality, availability, effectiveness, and support of Data Governance projects to support key business initiatives.
  3. Assist internal business partners with using the Metadata Catalog to create benchmarks, make informed decisions and improve processes
  4. Ensure the quality, availability, effectiveness, and support of Data Governance projects to support key business initiatives.
  5. Facilitate the implementation of efficiencies within a business area's processes
  6. Collaborate with the Business Intelligence (BI) team and business partners to ensure project deliverables and timelines are achieved
  7. Perform exploratory data analysis, design solutions, document findings, and communicate information and results to business partners in a concise and repeatable manner
  8. Guide in the development, analysis, and implementation of metadata catalog domains
  9. Use knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich metadata catalog elements and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders
  10. Facilitate adoption of the metadata catalog through education and relationship building with IT solution-owners
  11. Determine flow and assignment of tasks to meet milestones, and guide team through agile development process to ensure on-time delivery of high quality final product
  12. Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and users to assist in supporting day-to-day business functions
  13. Create new documentation and update existing documentation for IT systems and process; determine the related format, process, and diagrams to use in the creation of materials
  14. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BI industry’s analytical and reporting tools
  15. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  16. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  17. Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering required
  • Minimum three years’ experience managing overall technology platforms of data management and application components required
  • Minimum one year’s experience in a customer-facing role required
  • Experience with Data Modeling and ETL Processes preferred
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies preferred
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service and maintain excellent customer relationships
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a member of a team to achieve stated goals
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to differentiate between "interesting" and "valuable"
  • Travel required is less than 5%
  • General office work requiring sitting or standing for long periods of time
  • Able to work extended hours, weekends and odd hours as needed
