Job Description

The purpose of this job is to develop and manage the DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) supply strategy, maximize profitability for the DEF Terminal network and assist in business development programs

Essential Functions

  1. Develop, Manage and Execute the DEF supply strategy for North America
  2. Assist the DEF & Business Development Director in all decision making related to Diesel Exhaust Fluid procurement for North America; determine the optimal supply mix of rack and contract, maximizing terminal profitability
  3. Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers, customers, and manufacturers; Negotiate annual supply and pricing contracts
  4. Assist Operation team members with paperwork, pricing questions, supply and market conditions, and customer setup issues
  5. Analyze and prepare DEF market research, provide leadership with market strategy recommendations, and assist in all business development opportunities.
  6. Conduct daily strategy review and coordination of market moves, arbitrage opportunities, and supply adjustments with the Rail and Logistics teams
  7. Adjust shipping strategy daily to maximize profitability while keeping stores, terminals and customers in supply
  8. Convey terminal and product status updates, and general market issues to team members
  9. Provide training to supply team on systems, strategies, and processes; deliver correction and training for missed opportunities
  10. Provide leadership oversight and guidance after hours on supply, loading, and system issues
  11. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  12. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  13. Complete other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in relevant industry required

Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of the DEF market, hedging, and logistics
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
