Job Description

*The Schedule is 3 on 3 off.  This is for the PM shift 6 PM - 6 AM

The purpose of this job is to dispatch Drivers and tanker trucks on both day and night shifts to fulfill customer orders of Oilfield Services.


1. Receive dispatch requests and orders from customers and plan, schedule, and coordinate delivery of daily Oilfield Services loads

2. Determine required driver staffing, carrier loads, and customer inventory levels

3. Answer high volume telephone calls per day to assist drivers through various issues that affect the original dispatch plan and delivery; determine alternative delivery plan and redirect drivers as needed

4. Communicate to Drivers and management any customer concerns related to dispatch or loads to be picked up

5. Review each Driver’s compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) hours and plan routes in a safe and efficient manner

6. Maintain Oilfield Service tank levels at volumes per customer requirements

7. Complete Operation Reports daily as required by management

8. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure customers and team members are supported at the highest level

9. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

10. Complete other duties as assigned   


  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or engineering, or minimum five years’ experience in transportation dispatch or optimization preferred, or minimum five years’ practical oil field experience in gauging or other field operation areas preferred   
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred 


  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required; intermediate preferred
  • Minimum three years’ experience in oil field operations and familiarity with oil field terminology preferred


  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make decisions that have a significant financial impact within a limited timeframe
  • Effective problem solving and situational analysis skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to prioritize
