Job Description

The purpose of this job is to manage the Computer Imaging group, ensure efficient, secure and quality work is completed by the team and to collaborate with Pilot Flying J business partners and stakeholders.

1.      Oversee, lead and set priorities for the Computer Imaging team

2.      Select, coach, train and develop direct reports, to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews

3.      Manage moderately complex imaging projects and the team’s routine maintenance of servers, workstations and virtual machines

4.      Propose new imaging projects, processes and image types to meet company needs

5.      Collaborate with business partners to identify useful reporting for managed endpoints (e.g., servers, workstations, point-of-sale) to occur daily, weekly or as needed

6.      Lead the team’s efforts to create custom content to aid in deployment of third party software, configurations and updates; ensure integrity of product and deployment process

7.      Ensure that the team engages in an ongoing process of updating existing computer images; oversee the quality and stability of images built and produced by team

8.      Build secure and stable computer images

9.      Provide technical expertise and mentoring to the computer imaging team on development and production of stable images

10.   Ensure an accurate inventory of computer images, drives and other hardware used by the Imaging Group is maintained

11.   Manage third party vendors to assist in executing the functions above

12.   Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

13.   Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

14.   Complete other duties as assigned



·        Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, information technology or related field preferred

·        Minimum seven years’ experience in technology operations required

·        Basic Microsoft Office skills required; intermediate preferred

·        Advanced experience with Windows domain environment (Active Directory) required

·        Experience with computer imaging required

·        Advanced experience with troubleshooting computing hardware and software issues required

·        Experience using:

o   Windows Desktop OS (7, 8, 10) required

o   Windows Server OS (2008, 2012, 2016) required

o   Security patching and updates, software updates and deployment of software

o   SCCM, BigFix or other endpoint management platforms

-      Experience managing vendors / contractors to execute IT objectives

·        Ability to lead and motivate a team, and exercise independent judgment

·        Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·        Ability to lead projects, prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines

·        Willingness to learn and embrace new technologies

·        Ability to take initiative and work independently

·        Ability to provide excellent customer service and work as part of a team

·        Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
