The purpose of this job is to administer the Merchandising department’s ongoing sales reporting, sales communications, data analysis, and research efforts for the retail and deli categories.
1.Provide daily sales performance updates and reports to category managers that compare prior year (like-like) and budget
2.Provide a weekly update on retail sales, deli sales and margin performance to Merchandising, Store Operations, Food Service Innovation and Finance managers
3.Collaborate with Merchandising Planner to create reports and analytical tools that support the retail and deli category managers, field merchandisers, and field operations team
4.Research, analyze, and share business insights that help to identify areas of business growth, risk, and challenges
5.Regularly update and maintain the development, collection, and reconciliation of the retail and deli rebate budgets
6.Maintain, regularly update, and assist with monthly reconciliation of the Merchandising annual capital budget and the supplies and equipment budget
7.Develop and maintain budgeting tools and coordinate budgeting efforts with the category managers for retail and deli operations
8.Collaborate with the Merchandising Planner and category managers to create the annual and monthly retail/deli sales budgets
9.Provide analysis, reporting, and insight into the performance of all retail and deli test programs
10.Model behaviors that support Pilot Flying J’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
11.Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
12.Complete other duties as assigned
* Bachelor’s degree in retail or business required
* Minimum three years’ experience in retail planning, analysis, or strategy required
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a working knowledge of retail concepts
* Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsibly
* Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
* Enthusiastic and adaptable team player
