Job Description

The purpose of this job is to implement and manage the company’s daily operations (100 drivers, 60 trucks, and 25,000 bpd) and safety program in assigned Crude transportation region(s).


1.Manage the daily operations and safety program in assigned region(s) to ensure compliance with company procedures and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for new and existing Crude Drivers

2.Conduct new Crude Driver orientation in assigned regions that covers training on company policies and procedures

3.Facilitate training for all Crude Drivers on OSHA compliance and regulations

4.Conduct field observations with new and existing Crude Drivers to assess compliance with loading and unloading procedures

5.Define and implement corrective action if Crude Driver is non-compliant to include immediate stop work authority; document corrective action and record disciplinary action as needed

6.Travel with field operations management as a subject matter expert to ensure consistency of training conducted by field operations Team Members; coach and provide feedback on safety training content and presentation effectiveness

7.Model behaviors that support company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level

8.Ensure all work activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

9.Complete other duties as assigned


The following additional duties may also be required:

  • Analyze transportation data from various systems
  • Produce reports that identify trends and detail progress on meeting company safety and operational goals


  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred
  • Minimum five years’ prior experience in the truck industry required


  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations


  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with a diverse work team
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and situational analysis skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize based upon immediate and long term needs of the region and company
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to meet deadline and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage project related to company goals and initiatives
  • Advanced analytical skills (as applies to Additional Duties)


  • Periodic exposure to diesel, gasoline, and crude oil
  • Periodic exposure to hydrogen sulfide gas
  • Work area environment includes fuel drop areas, trucks, trailers, and fuel hauling equipment
  • Exposure to a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
  • Available to work evenings and odd hours as needed
