Join Pilot Flying J as a Retirement Specialist

The purpose of this job is to overseeday-to-day administration of Pilot Flying J (PFJ) 401(k) and non-qualifiedretirement plans and other benefit plans, ensuring compliance, resolution ofissues and an excellent Team Member experience.


·   Communicate with plan participants, handlingescalated issues and providing support to Team Members

·   Respond to inquiries regarding technical,compliance and product questions by researching and resolving issues,partnering with others on the benefits team, IT partners, ERISA attorney andothers as needed

·   Conduct detailed audits to ensure thatretirement plans are consistently administered and in compliance with Plandocuments, internal audit and security requirements, service level agreementsand relevant government regulations

·   Participate in retirement plan benchmarking anddesign, and continuously work to identify and implement process improvements

·   Assist with the coordination of the annualADP/ACP testing and gathering indicative and financial data as required toallow completion of the annual audit and form 5500 filing

·   Process participant eligibility, loans, anddeductions and coordinate plan amendment requests to ensure properdocumentation is on file for plan compliance

·   Maintain and update data for plans andparticipants in the record-keeping system

·   Liaise with ERISA attorney, consultants andbrokers to assist with renewals, plan management and escalated issues

·   Support leadership in the preparation andexecution, with legal consultation, of benefits documentation (e.g., originaland amended plan documents, amendments and other legal document requirements)

·   Performs other related duties as assigned


·   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business,human resources OR equivalent work experience required

·   Minimum two years’ related experience required;three to five years’ experience preferred

·   In-depth knowledge of retirement planadministration and regulations

·   Financial acumen and familiarity with financialterminology and investment vehicles offered on qualified and non-qualifiedplans

·   Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and advancedExcel skills required

·   Experience using HRIS systems preferred

·   Excellent written, verbal and listeningcommunication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively withvendors, plan participants and senior leaders

·   Excellent analytical, critical and strategicthinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to use data for decisionmaking

·   Ability to plan, organize and manage multipleprojects to meet goals and initiatives within deadlines

·   Strong attention to detail and the ability to regularlyhandle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion

·   Ability to drive results and exhibit strongfollow-up skills

·   Ability to take initiative and workindependently

·   Ability to influence, cultivate and buildrelationships
