The purpose of this job is to collaborate with the commercial team and oversee, manage, optimize, and execute marine related operations for PFJ Energy operations.
Essential Functions
- Nominate, schedule, and execute marine shipments of Refined Products and Renewable Fuels
- Collaborate with the credit team using due diligence tools to ensure vessels are vetted in a timely manner with counterparties, terminals and internal checks and balances
- Collaborate with credit and finance groups reviewing counterparty credit confirmation and issuance of payment collaterals
- Oversee product quantity and quality control for all marine shipments and vetting of all shipment documents ensuring accuracy and completion
- Network and build relationships with ship owners, ship brokers, ship charterers, terminals, and inspection companies
- Collaborate with contracts group to review marine contract General Terms and Conditions
- Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure accurate and timely import and export filings
- Enter and manage all marine shipment information into ETRM system
- Review and approve counterparty invoices related to marine shipments
- Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure team members are supported at the highest level
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance, or relevant field experience required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience scheduling and executing marine operations preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a trading environment handling logistics and transportation preferred
Specialized Knowledge
- Energy Operations lifecycle via various modes of transportation
- Product specifications for Refined Products and Renewable Fuels
- Common Charter Party formats and ability to calculate and/or estimate freight differentials, deviation, and other shipping related costs
- Expert level knowledge of Incoterms 2010 and 2020
- Letter of Credit formats and documentation requirements
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills required, Advanced preferred
