Job Description

The purpose of this job is to manage the daily operations of a regional Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) transportation and logistics team.

1. Supervise and provide daily oversight of Regional DEF Transportation; select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews
2. Develop weekly routing plans to maximize truck and driver optimization while meeting supply allocations, maintaining proper inventory levels, and executing service requirements set forth by DEF suppliers
3. Conduct quarterly safety training sessions
4. Review and approve weekly payroll records for the assigned region
5. Monitor DEF sales, inventory levels, and allocations for a region of travel centers utilizing scheduling software
6. Ensure financial and operational goals are met by properly controlling labor, safety, freight cost, maintenance cost, and maximum gallons hauled
7. Correspond with the Supply & Distribution department to ensure all contracts and supply allocations are met
8. Analyze volume trends within the region to determine equipment needs and growth opportunities
9. Prepare annual operating budget and track monthly key performance indicators
10. Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure accurate monthly reporting of DEF freight revenue
11. Troubleshoot and resolve driver loading issues at DEF terminals with local operators and DEF terminal manager
12. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
13. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
14. Complete other duties as assigned
15. Travel required up to 50%

* Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
* Minimum three years’ internal logistics or transportation experience required
* Strong understanding of fuel supply chain
* Understanding of federal, state, and local Department of Transportation regulations
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to collaborate with internal support teams
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
* Ability to multitask and focus in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to balance decisions between operating efficiently and generating revenue
