Job Description

Do you have a passion for Accounting? Do you like being in a leadership role? If you answered yes to those questions, this might be the perfect job for you!  Pilot company would like to add an Income Tax Accountant Supervisor to our Finance team. 

In this role you will: 

  • Supervise and provide daily oversight of the income tax team; select, coach, train, and develop direct reports, to include appraising job
  • Prepare federal, state and local income tax returns involving complex issues with a focus on flow-through taxation (i.e., S Corporations, Partnerships) 
  • Review less complex federal, state and local partnership tax returns
  • Review and prepare responses to notices and audit information requests from various federal, state and local authorities
  • Research and analyze technical tax issues
  •  Assist accounting department to ensure information is recorded to facilitate compliance requirements
  • Support training of staff and assist other supervisors with staff development 
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • Masters’ degree in taxation or LLM preferred
  • Minimum two years’ public accounting or corporate/public accounting experience required; four years’ experience preferred
  • Minimum one year’s supervisory experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuit of CPA preferred
  • Partnership and S Corporation multi-state, multi-entity experience preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Access, required
  • Tax research and knowledge of tax resources
  •  Accounting and tax software skills
  • Knowledge of data mining tools
