Job Description

The purpose of this job is to oversee the daily purchase of fuel in the assigned region and ensure all contractual obligations are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.Purchase fuel and ensure the supply mix between rack supply, contracts, shipped barrels, and day deals are planned daily to maximize profitability

2.Coordinate directly with the fuel scheduler to direct current and future inventory levels of fuel into all markets in assigned region

3.Collaborate with all team members in the region to ensure proper maintenance of all contracts, pricing, freight, and loading numbers

4.Execute the supply hedge strategy; direct the trading group to buy and sell future contracts as approved by manager

5.Audit the marking and buying plan; make necessary adjustments based upon supply and market conditions

6.Collaborate with other regions on the overall strategy regarding pipelines and adjust inventory mix as needed

7.Manage supply contract allocation and request additional volume from suppliers when needed

8.Assist the wholesale team with market intelligence and contract allocations

9.Ensure hedged barrels are pulled correctly and at designated location

10.Coordinate all system activities, setups, and maintenance for products and supply choices; ensure all changes are communicated to cross functional depts in a timely manner

12.Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

13.Complete other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience required


SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of fuel and energy markets preferred
  • Understanding of the energy industry and infrastructure as well as commodity economics preferred
