Job Description

Do you enjoy traveling? Looking for your next career opportunity as a commercial electrician and reside in the State of Florida? This may be for you. The purpose of this job is to repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and clean signs and exterior lighting at company locations. You need to have experience and be willing to work independently. 

  1. Receive daily work assignments and drive a bucket truck to Pilot Flying J locations to inspect signage and lighting as part of a two-person team
  2. Identify potential and existing problems with electrical signage and lighting, provide analysis and investigation of issues, and determine the best solution for needed repairs
  3. Replace electrical equipment, including but not limited to ballasts, lamps, sockets, switches, fixtures, and involving voltages from 120 to 480 volts
  4. Complete required documentation for all repairs and installs using a smartphone, iPad, and/or laptop computer
  5. Provide excellent customer service to team members onsite, interact in a professional, respectful manner, and collaborate to meet project deadlines
  6. Ensure that the jobsite is maintained to the highest standards of safety; prepare the worksite, eliminate all possible hazards, and clean up the site daily
  7. Maintain ongoing communication with management on project status and provide daily reports on work completed
  8. Work within OSHA guidelines and actively participate in and complete regular safety training, and follow all safety procedures at all times
  9. Maintain own equipment, inventory, and company vehicles, including daily truck safety checks
  10. Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  11. Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  12. Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
  • Minimum five years’ commercial electrical experience required; seven years’ experience preferred
  • Electrical journeyman license preferred
  • DOT medical care required
  • Minimum three years’ bucket/aerial lift and electrical experience at heights 60 to 120 feet required; five years’ experience preferred
  • Bucket truck class and certification required post-hire
  • Minimum age of 21 years with clean DOT record
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills required
  • Intermediate knowledge of commercial lamps, ballasts and LED fixtures
  • Understanding of National Electrical Code
  • Intermediate knowledge of low voltage environments
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work as part of a team
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Additional Information
  • Travel required up to 90-100% Monday-Friday. Home, most major Holidays. 
  • Able to lift tools, parts, and equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, climb stairs and ladders, and work from heights
  • Excellent balance, manual dexterity, depth perception and visual acuity, both near and far
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures
  • Available to work evening and odd hours as needed
